I’m a ‘packet’ kind of Mum, are you? :/

I’d like to start off by saying I’m all about fresh, organic fruit and vegetables and I love to make homemade food! Whether it’s a hearty soup, a roast with all the trimmings, the occasional lasagna or a spag bowl! Simply because I know what is going inside the meals and therefore what’s going inside our tummies.

However when it comes to lunchtime I’m all about packet food and sadly I’m not really ashamed to admit it. Cheese string – packet, crisps – packet, strawberry flakes – packet, raisins – packet, cookies or biscuits – packet, you get the picture!

I lay out the kids, his n hers, blue and pink matching brother and sister Cath Kidston plates that have separate sections. I literally go to the cupboard get 2 of a few bits and end up with a pile of empty packets.

Obviously I mix it up a bit, not always giving the kids crisps and biscuits. I make little stars in their ham, Marmite or jam sandwiches. Sometimes I will make wraps, crumpets or hot cross buns (this depends on my mood, lol) I always overload the plates with a mixture of fruit – apples, oranges, bananas, strawberries and just lately raspberries!

You as a mother know your child/ren better than anyone and therefore know what they will and won’t eat. I know Riley will only eat oranges but I refuse to just offer Riley an orange because maybe then in his eyes he think’s t’s acceptable to limit himself to just that, t’s not! So I will lay out a selection but end up throwing it away most of the time!

The fruit part makes me feel less guilty for the packet part…are you a packet Mum? :/ Please tell me I’m not alone here, do you think it’s a bad thing?

(P.S – I uploaded a few of my favourite lunch and dinner passed pics from Facebook)

Phew thought you were going to judge me then I quite literally just held my breath whilst reading your comment. As long as you pick wisely and limit the crap I think it’s okay. I will always cook a nice healthy meal in the evening. Accept tonight I cba and I’m heading to McDonald’s ?
