I’m finally starting to feel like myself again after a busy weekend visiting Manchester for the Blog On MSI 2016 event. I had a good time, ate way too much and connected with some great brands in which I hope to work with in the future. This is my second big blog event after Brit Mums Live 2016 which attended earlier in the year. Did you read the blog? Click here to read 🙂
I spent most of the weekend with my fellow blogger friend Talya – Motherhood the real deal. Have you checked out her blog? Other than eating eggs Benedict before the Virgin train to Manchester and ending up with a weird tummy. I also realised on the trip up that I’d booked the hotel for the evening after the event not before, big fat whoops! Luckily Talya came to the rescue and we reserved a room at the Holiday Inn in Media City, phew!
After just 2 hours arrived from London to Manchester, talk about quick or what! I felt like a mouse in London, so busy with everyone rushing in front of you in their own little bubbles but Manchester was something else. Everyone looked like a hard nut. I guess it didn’t help that a football match had just finished the moment we arrived, busy busy! Talya even joked at one point about not smiling at people just in case (surprised emoji) Thankfully Tayla had her head screwed on and got us from the station to our hotel via the tram!
I was impressed with the hotel, everything we needed was there, it was clean and the staff were friendly. We popped out for dinner at Cafe Rouge – Mussles to share followed by steak with snail and garlic butter and a glass of white wine! After a rather big meal we headed back to the hotel just in time for our pre-booked (just before the meal) massage with Urban Massages. Seen as I buggered up the hotel booking I couldn’t deprive Tayla a bit of pampering. There was a spa, sauna, steam room and not to name the hotel but you could see the MSI from it, grrrrr! It was an early night us ready for a big day at the event the following morning.
Perhaps it was something we ate but we both woke up with dodgy bellies. All I could think about was porridge and green tea! Screw you dirty fry up!
Then the fun really began I’m not sure what I expected but there was lots to see. I was excited and wanted to do everything there and then I didn’t know where to start. I lost Talya most of the day as I was talking away to brands, eating, pottering around or having my nails done! It was a great experience and it was lovely to connect with so many other bloggers.
I managed 2 out of the 4 presentations. I know I said 1 in the vlog, oops YouTube and Instagram. I felt they were both beneficial to me hence closing my old Instagram and opening another to start off fresh. You can now find me here. The YouTube presentation was eyeopening, there’s so much potential and I really feel like I need to start pushing myself to explore more as I know I can do anything when I put my mind to it.
We left early to avoid the BlogOn rush and headed home and what a long trip it felt. Every muscle in my body ached and I felt sick and exhausted. I missed my babies and needed my bed big time! But thanks for having me BlogOn and hope to see you next year!
Hey don’t forget to give this a thumbs up if you enjoyed the read 🙂 Also if you want to get in touch drop me a line here !
